Yawn, #TDS. You had me with your earlier writings man but I'm out now. Ain't nothing different today than was under Biden, Obama, Bush, Clinton, etc. I'm simply tired of TDS.

The only saving grace is that ICE and the Trump administration, limited to hiring angry racists that barely graduated high school, are inevitably incompetent.

The deployment to Minneapolis, a city far from the border with few undocumented migrants, exemplifies this. While they will murder Americans and terrorize communities, their tactics are crude and ineffective and will always do more to create opposition than achieve their hateful goals.

Wes's avatar

Implementing a covid vaccine mandate in 2026 to purge Minneapolis PD is quite the tactic

Any they say left wing authoritarianism is out of ideas

James's avatar

A vaccine mandate is hardly authoritarian, just because the public is full of morons that does not mean policy ought to placate them.

Next one will be saying that requiring your child is educated (inside or outside public school) is authoritarian.

ben's avatar

I'm not sure I understand why are the people who don't want vaccines are "morons"?

Most epidemiologists will tell you that there is always a risk in vaccines on the personal level.

James's avatar

Will most epidemiologists tell you not to get vaccinated?

ben's avatar

I'm sure if I were a member of the population for whom vaccines are a risk, most epistemologists would in fact tell me this.

I'm sure I won't be a moron either.

I dunno. Not a big fan of sweeping generalizations.

James's avatar

What population is that?

Nuremberg trials is a bare minimum position.

James's avatar

I agree there should be trials. But Nuremberg should probably not be the bare minimum. I can totally imagine a trial that’s just normal where they are thrown in prison for 10-15 years and many other collaborators are fined, barred from running, and imprisoned for less time depending on the severity of their crimes.

But I agree that if there are no trials, this will only get worse. I know Americans like to think that Trump is a unique figure, and in some ways he is, but the damage done by unique figures often persists long after they shuffle off the mortal coil.

Tony's avatar

So stupid it’s beyond words.

Ben's avatar

Why would you carry a gun to a peaceful protest? I'm still not understanding this tactic.

Erik Warnke's avatar

Well, based on what Decker wrote, it's a great way to goad ICE in to murdering you. And that's the point of protest! 🙃

Sage Alfields's avatar

You won't do shit.

The NLRG's avatar

"the federal government should decline to have state charges moved to federal court, so that no future president can ever pardon them." the president cannot pardon state crimes regardless of where they were tried

Nicholas Decker's avatar

I may be misapprised. My belief was that federal agents have their charges moved to federal court because they are federal charges, not that they are state charges tried in federal court? I presume that this is wrong.

The NLRG's avatar

not a lawyer but i think that's incorrect. federal courts get involved to determine whether they have immunity. see this article, subhead "Can federal agents be prosecuted?"

https://time.com/7344924/federal-officers-shooting-immigration-portland-minneapolis-prosecution-immunity/

LastBlueDog's avatar

You are correct. If the case gets moved to federal court it’ll be federal charges and thus eligible for presidential pardon.

zinjanthropus's avatar

This argues the opposite — even in federal court, it would be state charges ineligible for a pardon. I suspect this would get relitigated in the event of a prosecution: https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2026/01/is-minneapolis-ice-shooter-immune-state-prosecution-supreme-court.html

Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Fay Wells's avatar

Loyalty isn't the issue; Federal Agents vastly outnumber Minnesota Police. Overwhelming pressure on Congress still has a better chance of avoiding the USA continuing towards dictatorship

Nicholas Decker's avatar

Congress cannot do anything. The funding for ICE has been set aside for the next several years already.

The NLRG's avatar

congress could reduce their funding, they simply prefer not to

Fay Wells's avatar

Congress can impeach

Fading Light's avatar

You mean impeach the people who are carrying out the laws passed by Congress?

Adam's avatar

The claim that “his private army is already funded by the BBB, with the money set aside more than sufficient for the next few years” doesn’t make sense. The bill hasn’t passed yet? The house passed something but it hasn’t gone through reconciliation with the senate yet? Government funding currently expires in about six weeks, and there’s no guaranteed multi-year appropriation in place. Congress has not “voted away its ability to influence anything”. They retain the power of the purse and will need to pass new funding legislation by March 14.

Daniel's avatar

>Instead, ICE must be goaded into murdering people. That is the point of non-violent protest.

This is the most evil thing I have ever read on Substack. I have no idea how someone could write that and not ask themselves, “are we the baddies?” You want to hijack the emotional reaction of people who see violence and assume that it must be unjustified by eliciting violence that is justified but in a way that is difficult to see. It would be much more defensible to simply say that citizens should rise up and kill ICE agents, as indeed you have implied many times. You instead want to destroy our collective moral discernment itself.

Angelus Irae ☩'s avatar

If Pretti was such a great guy, why was he harassing ICE? He had it coming. That's justice.

Shockwell's avatar

I understand the fear, but in fact Trump is the only one who does election denialism. The only one. Even the MAGAs who are crazier than he is concede when they lose.

This, in any case, should be the assumption based on prior elections. If it changes, we're in a different universe. I'd agree with that.

Fool’s Errand's avatar

Idk bro if your whole thesis is that people should kill and die to protect the illegal immigration regime you could always just buy a gun and shoot the cops.

The fact that you’re not doing that, and even the groups specifically trying to fight ICE are doing media friendly strategy instead, proves to me that people do very much care about the elections and think changing peoples minds is what will protect them, not violence

jrhurren's avatar

As an independent, I’m sad to say that this is full of horrible ideas and, if attempted, would ensure a Dem loss yet again. Keep losing with the same dumb approach. We really need a 3rd party more than ever

Nicholas Decker's avatar

Humbug. I don’t see how under-the-table loyalty tests would ensure a Democratic loss.

Fading Light's avatar

Another faggot take. Pretti assaulted a cop while armed. That's just suicide with extra steps.

The goal here is plainly obvious: Antagonize legit law enforcement so that you can get fake sympathy. The Left desperately wants martyrs -- they want another Kent State.

It has nothing to do with immigrants. This is the Left playing chess, doing everything it can to distract the public from the billions in fraud that have been found in Minnesota.

Ben's avatar

The right wants chaos and violence from the masses so they can justify even more jackboots on the ground

Fading Light's avatar

You're literally describing Antifa, bud.

The Right wants basic law and order.

Ben's avatar

How many immigrant Minnesotans were outlaws or causing disorder?

Fading Light's avatar

Quite a few of them, if you actually care to pay attention.

Plus, every single one of them violated immigration law. Out they go.
